Watch this introductory presentation on Phoenix - a psychoeducational group work programme that has been created for Kent. This programme was designed to be inclusive, we set aside heteronormative language and gender as well as the idea that domestic abuse only happens within romantic relationships. During Phoenix you learn about the tactics that an abusive person will use, the warning signs and the honeymoon cycle, to start reinstating personal boundaries after abuse. The presentation is led by Iona Hunter-Whitehouse, Senior Project Development Officer at Oasis Domestic Abuse Service, will take you through some of the content - what a facilitator or participant in the group can expect. A session aimed at domestic abuse professionals. Domestic Abuse: It’s Everybody’s Business is a series of e-resources to help you learn about understand and feel empowered to speak out against this devastating social issue and support those that need help.
