“Intro to the 3D Animation Production Pipeline" - A Masterclass presented by Centennial College in partnership with the Canada Creative Arts Education fair, hosted by the Embassies of Canada in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Mexico. Learn how today’s animation projects come together in a production environment: Concept Design, Storyboard, Pre-visualisation, Modeling, Rigging, Animation, Lighting, and final delivery. This session will introduce careers in the animation, visual effects, and game industries in Canada and demonstrate the skills 3D artists need at each stage in the pipeline. We will also discuss the current trends in the Animation industry, and briefly highlight a new trend: how a game engine, specifically Unreal, is utilized to support animation work. Presenter Bio: John JH Lee is a professor and program coordinator for the Animation - 3D and Digital Visual Effects (DVFX) programs in the School of Communications, Media, Arts and Design at Centennial College.
