Making an office chair out of a Citroen C1 driver’s seat

During Project C1, I needed to replace a driver’s seat because the airbag electrical connector on the wiring was broken. Once the seat had been changed, I was left with a seat that needed disposing of... but then I had a cunning plan! I decided that it would be a good idea to use some bits and pieces I had lying around to make an office chair. Liz has been working from home for the last six months and has been using a fold away chair, so I figured that she would benefit from a proper office chair. I had the base and gas strut in the back of the shed somewhere from a previously proven office chair and some steel box section came from a friend of mine. After rooting around in the parts bin for some bolts and finding some paint left over from the Volvo, I had everything I needed to see if it could even be done. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not the prettiest, but it's functional!
