Pros: Clean and Well-Maintained Park: Gettysburg Campground impressed us with its commitment to cleanliness and maintenance. The well-kept environment contributed to a positive camping experience. Great Hookups and Water Pressure: Quality hookups and good water pressure are fundamental for an enjoyable camping experience, and Gettysburg Campground delivered on these aspects. Great Location Close to Town: The campground's proximity to town is a significant advantage, making it convenient for exploring the local area. Friendly Staff at Check-In: The staff's friendliness and helpfulness at check-in added a welcoming touch to our arrival. Level Sites: Having level sites is crucial for a comfortable setup, and we appreciated the attention to this detail. Well-Stocked, Clean Store: A well-maintained and well-stocked store adds convenience to any campground experience. Gettysburg Campground's store met expectations in this regard. Cons: High Price Not Reflective of Site Quality: At $100 a night, the price did not seem justified, especially given the tightness of the site and the initial untidiness of neighboring campers. Site Location and Bugs: Considering the price, expectations for a better site location, possibly by the river, were not met. The stagnant river created a bug issue, which affected our overall experience. Lack of Trash Pickup: The absence of trash pickup is a notable inconvenience, especially considering the cost of the stay. Slow and Inadequate WiFi: The WiFi, while available, was slow and inadequate for practical use, which can be a drawback for those needing internet access. Presence of Stink Bugs: The presence of stink bugs was an unwelcome surprise, and diligent bug spray application was necessary to avoid issues with these pests. Premature Pool Closure and Early Amenity Closure: The premature closure of the pool and the early closure of most amenities by 6 PM limited the opportunities for guests to fully enjoy the facilities, especially during warm weather.
