Lake Louise Winter Getaway | HI Hostel Tour, Ski Resort & Winter Hiking 🌲

Visiting Lake Louise should be on everyone's bucket list! In this video, we went on a winter weekend getaway to this beautiful town in Banff National Park. With a focus on budget travel, slowing down and enjoying the outdoors, we spent two nights at the HI Lake Louise Alpine Centre. Our days were filled with winter hiking, snowboarding and even enjoying a nice cocktail or two. With snow finally settling in Banff National Park, it felt like the right time to take a break and enjoy the off-season while it lasts. In partnership with Hostelling International Canada we spent some time in Lake Louise to show you all the amazing winter activities in the area and explore what its really like to stay in a hostel in Lake Louise. Hostel accommodation is a great way to save money, meet new friends and have new experiences. When I am travelling solo or on a budget, this is usually the type of accommodation style we would opt for. On this trip, the HI Lake Louise Alpine Centre was the perfect base for our Lake Louise adventures. The hostel has a very central location, ski shuttle stops nearby and even an onsite restaurant. If you're coming to Lake Louise this winter, here are some of my favourite activities for your itinerary: Go on a winter hike: Lake Louise has so many great hiking trails from the realitivly easy 'Fairview Lookout' to the more moderate/hard trails like 'Little Beehive' or 'Plain of Six Glaciers'. All Trails is the best app for finding nearby trails and assessing their current conditions. Go skiing/snowboarding: Lake Louise has some of the best snow in North America and this Ski Big 3 resort is the perfect place to be if you want endless terrain, nice long runs and great experiences. Pick up a day pass directly at the resort, or purchase a Ski Big 3 pass to visit all 3 resorts in Banff National Park as well. Watch Sunrise/Sunset: Mountain sunrises and sunsets are just something else, the way the sun hits the peaks surrounding you is such a special feeling. The lake is a great spot for sunrise and a perk of travelling in winter... you dont even need to get out of bed too early!
