Nestled on the western coast of Ibiza near Sant Antoni de Portmany, Cala Salada and Cala Saladeta are renowned for their pristine natural beauty and tranquil ambiance. These adjacent coves boast golden sands, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and are enveloped by pine-covered hills, offering a serene escape from the island’s more bustling beaches. Cala Salada Approximately 80 meters in length and 25 meters wide, Cala Salada is a favored spot for both locals and visitors. The beach is characterized by its soft sandy bed and shallow waters, making it ideal for swimming and snorkeling. Facilities include sunbeds, parasols, showers, and a popular beach restaurant serving traditional dishes like seafood paella. However, parking is limited, and during peak summer months, access by car may be restricted between 9:30 AM and 5:00 PM. Visitors are encouraged to use alternative transportation such as mopeds, buses, or water taxis from San Antonio . Cala Saladeta Accessible via a short hike along a cliffside path from Cala Salada, Cala Saladeta offers a more secluded beach experience. This smaller cove is known for its clear waters teeming with marine life, making it a popular spot for snorkeling. The beach lacks facilities, so visitors should come prepared with essentials. The natural setting, framed by rocky outcrops and pine forests, provides a picturesque backdrop for relaxation . Historical Significance The area around Cala Salada is rich in history, with nearby caves at Ses Fontanelles housing Bronze Age cave paintings. These archaeological sites offer a glimpse into the island’s ancient past and are accessible via hiking trails from the beach . Visitor Tips • Transportation: Due to limited parking, especially during summer, consider using mopeds, public buses, or water taxis to reach the beaches. • Amenities: While Cala Salada offers basic facilities, Cala Saladeta does not. Plan accordingly by bringing necessary supplies. • Activities: Both beaches are ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and enjoying the natural surroundings. Cliff diving is popular but should be approached with caution. Experience the natural allure and historical depth of Cala Salada and Cala Saladeta, two of Ibiza’s most captivating coastal destinations. ______________________________________ Location: Cala Saladeta, Ibiza, Spain April 24th 2025 ______________________________________ Camera Equipment: iPhone 12 Pro Additional Blurring was added to fit youtube requirements
