Welcome to the Dr. Joe Show: Cigar Review No. 31 - Cohiba Siglo VI Welcome viewers, to another review, here at the Dr. Joe Show! This week, we're taking a good look into Habanos SA's flagship brand again - this time specifically at the prestigious "Linea 1492," more often simply regarded as, the "Siglo," series. In 1994, a new line of cigars was added to the Cohiba range - the Linea 1492. The line pays homage to the great explorer, Christopher Columbus and his discoveries of the Americas. Each vitola within the line represents a century since his voyage. The "Siglo I," or "Century I," represents the 16th century. The "Siglo II," the 17th century, and so on. Originally, there were only 5 sizes, with the last, the "Siglo V." Representing the 20th century. At the turn of the millennium, it was without question that the tradition must be upheld, as by then the Linea 1492 had become wildly popular, renowned as one of Cuba's finest cigars. And so, in 2002, the "Siglo VI," was born, bringing cigar culture into the 21st century. Today, the Siglo VI specifically, is perhaps the most apprised, sought after vitola in the line. The most obvious reason for that is its size. Unlike its predecessors, the Siglo VI is big. At nearly 6 inches with a ring gauge of 52, dubbed, "Canonazo," the Siglo VI is an impressive cigar. While smoking our cigar, we'll talk more about the Linea 1492 / Siglo cigars - how and why they came to be and what they represent. Also, we'll keep in mind our impressions of the Trinidad Fundadores we smoked in review No.30. Which cigar is better? It's a question often asked by cigar smokers around the world. Maybe today, we can get a little closer to an answer. So, sit back, relax, light-up and smoke with us for another review, here at the Dr. Joe Show - "Pure Cigar Entertainment!"
