Please help to support this channel's work:    / @bitcoin_university   In this video, I discuss Trump's weekend posts about including XRP, ADA, and SOL in a Strategic Crypto Reserve. This is a terrible idea. Taxpayer money should never be used to buy tokens (XRP) issued by a private company (Ripple) that still controls north of 50% of those tokens. Like Cardano and Solana, XRP is not neutral commodity money, and as such does not belong in any government reserve. It's important to remember that Bitcoin doesn't need the US government. It's the opposite: the US government (like every other entity on earth) needs Bitcoin. If the US gov can't figure this out and chooses to waste money (that it doesn't even have) on crapcoins, then other more intelligent governments (like El Salvador and Bhutan) will be more than happy to buy up the Bitcoin instead. If I were China or Russia, why in the world would I want to stockpile an American-issued scamcoin like XRP? Putting XRP in a US strategic reserve may paradoxically make it less likely that other countries want to buy it. This is what makes BTC so different and special: It's global. It's international. It wasn't issued by a corporation or foundation, and doesn't have an active living founder who's dumping it to buy private jets and ranches like Charles Hoskinson does with Cardano. Bitcoin is a neutral digital commodity, without an active founder like Cardano, Solana, or Ripple. Bitcoin also did not have an initial insider allocation (premine) like these other cryptos.
