After have some awesome dives catching crayfish at Robe we head to Beachport for the night, before sailing into Port Macdonnell. Along the way we pass through several kelp forests, dodge countless cray pots and get buzzed by a low flying RAAF Orion plane. The shallow bay facing the southern ocean swells creates a dangerous entry, and after picking our path we surf a few waves before we get picked up by a larger breaking wave and end up surfing in at 21 KNOTS! We understand why we are the only sailing boat in the harbour. We’re Chris and Jo and we have been living on our Seawind 1260 since January 2019. In our first year we bring our yacht down the east coast of Australia and sail it out to New Caledonia. After cruising further north up the east coast of Australia in 2020, we decide to circumnavigate Australia during 2021 and 2022. We had previously owned fishing and water skiing boats, but after a couple years crewing in South Australia we decided to jump right in and make a sea change. We are just an ordinary Aussie couple exploring what this great world has to offer and hope that we can inspire others just as we were by watching other YouTube channels to follow our dreams. #southaustralia #australia #scary #surfing #robe #circumnavigationaustralia #seawind1260 #seawindcats
