PINE MOUNTAIN TRAIL THRU HIKE // 45 Miles of Ice Storm Damage on Kentucky’s Hardest Trail

Hello everyone! Hope you’re doing well and having a healthy and happy summer so far. Have you ever wondered what it’s like to take an extended hike through the mountains after a severe ice storm? Well, back in February, I embarked on a crazy adventure with Jason Wish, a backpacking legend and multiple FKT Holder (“Fastest Known Time”), and Nick (my Sheltowee trail bro from “Smokeybeesnatural”), where we traveled down to SE Kentucky to thru hike the nearly 50mile Pine Mountain State Scenic Trail (PMT). The forest was in complete disarray, with hundreds of blown down trees and limbs blocking our path, and remnants of that destructive ice on the dark side of the mountain.
