Iris - "Cei ce vor fi" ("Those Who Will Be") Music by: Florin Ochescu Lyrics by: Mircea Dinescu Song released on: "Iris I", LP, Electrecord, 1984 Video recorded at: "Iris Lună plină" ("Iris Full Moon") Promotional Show, Bucharest, Polivalentă Hall, December 13th 1996 / "Iris Maxima" Promotional Show, Bucharest, Polivalentă Hall, December 10th 2005 Performed by: Cristian Minculescu - lead vocals, Nelu Dumitrescu - drums, Doru Borobeică - bass guitar, Valter Popa - lead and rhythm guitar, Sorin Voinea (1996) / Relu Marin (2005) - keyboards This 1984 song belonging to the Romanian hard rock band Iris was released on the group's debut album, "Iris I". During the communist regime, "Those Who Will Be" was considered a disident song because of its lyrics written by the famous Mircea Dinescu, who at that time was a disident Romanian poet. The song begins with a clock rhythm distinguished by cymbals. This rhythm is like a final countdown. The metaphorical time trickling idea is continued by the lyrics. We have to realize that the "great nothing", when we all have to die, is very close. Our lifes are nothing more than some "pearls of song and dream". Death is seen as a natural event, that must be confronted with dignity and without any kind of fear. The poet places himself at the "height of this song" and looks at the incoming ones, the new characters of this world. "Those Who Will Be" refers both to the new generations and the generations of whose who departed this life. Adrian Pintea, Laura Stoica, Florian Pittiş left our world for a new beginning. Iris musical producer, Mike Godoroja, said at a press conference that the title of this song is the most beautiful and interesting title that appears on "Iris I" LP. That's why the 30 years anniversary album released in 2007 was entitled "Those Who Will Be".
