We started our journey early morning from Bengaluru and drove through NH-48, one of the best highway routes connecting Karnataka to Maharashtra. This is a 6-day, 2200+ km road trip, and in this episode (EP-1), you’ll see the complete journey from Bangalore to Kaas Plateau, also known as the Maharashtra Valley of Flowers 🌸. ⸻ 🛣️ ROAD ROUTE DETAILS (IMPORTANT) Route Taken: Bangalore → Nelamangala → Tumakuru → Chitradurga → Hubballi → Belagavi → Kolhapur → Satara → Kaas Plateau • Highway: NH-48 • Total distance (one way): ~750 km • Drive time: ~13–14 hours (excluding breaks) Road Conditions Summary: • Bangalore to Chitradurga: Excellent 4/6-lane highway • Chitradurga to Hubballi: Smooth drive, minimal issues • After Hubballi & Belagavi: Multiple road diversions ⚠️ • Kolhapur onwards: More frequent diversions, slower pace • Satara to Kaas Plateau: Scenic ghat roads with fog & rain 👉 Important: There are many road diversions after Hubballi, Belagavi, and Kolhapur, so patience is required. Overall, the roads are drivable and safe, but expect slow sections. ⸻ 🌫️ FOG, GHAT ROADS & SAFETY Early morning drives come with perks — minimal traffic, smooth cruising — but also fog and mist, especially near toll plazas and ghat sections.
