Excel Hacks: Edit One Pivot Table Without Affecting Others

Discover the Excel trick to isolate your pivot table edits without impacting others in this step-by-step guide. Say you've create two Pivot Tables from the same source data and filter one by Category 1 and another by Category 2. That works. But then you want to try a different view and group on Pivot Table by Months and want to group the other Pivot Table by Quarter...and it doesn't work. It's with one or the other (i.e., Month or Quarters) and not both. The reason this happens is because the Pivot Table are sharing the same Pivot Cache. Normally this is not a problem, but once you start to group data or use calculated fields or calculated items, you may come across this limitation.
