Hey there, fellow growers! It's Matt from Cannabis Science, and today I'm gonna show you how I set up my irrigation and fertilizer system. We're gonna keep it simple and easy to understand, so stick around. First, I'll walk you through the tools I use. I've got a 55-gallon trash can as my main water source. It's important to measure the EC (parts per million), temperature, and pH of your water. I use a fancy device called the Blue Lab Guardian for this, but you can use handheld tools too. Next, I've got a submersible pump called the Leader Eco Diver 1200. It's a bit pricey, but it does the job. I also use some fittings and tubing to connect everything. Now, let's talk fertilizer. I use the JR Peters Jack's 3-2-1 system, which has three parts: A, B, and Epsom salts. Part A has a mix of nutrients, Part B is calcium nitrate, and Epsom salts are just magnesium sulfate. Here's how I mix it: I add potassium silicate (for plant health) first, then Part A and Epsom salts, and finally, calcium nitrate. Be careful, adding potassium silicate can raise your pH a lot. After mixing, I use my Blue Lab Guardian to check the EC and pH. If it's not in the right range, I adjust the pH with a little acid. My final fertilizer mix should have an EC of about 2.5, a temperature of 65°F, and a pH between 5.5 and 5.8. Now, the fun part! I set up a timer to water my plants for one minute every hour from 9:15 AM to 8:00 PM. And that's it! I've shown you my simple and cost-effective way to fertilize my plants. Stay tuned for more tips from Cannabis Science!
