Volunteering in Care Homes: Making Connections, Improving Lives

This five minute video captures the impact of volunteering on residents, care home staff and volunteers whilst experts from the fields of dementia care and volunteering reflect on the significance of these findings. The participants interviewed have all been involved in the Volunteering in Care Homes Project, a three year pilot that brokered relationships between Volunteer Centres and their local care homes to recruit and support volunteers to fulfil roles that enabled older residents to engage in activities of their choice. The video incorporates the key findings from the project evaluation and has been produced to promote volunteering in care homes and the resources produced by the project.
