Tracy McCarter appeared at the opening for the Wall of Silence. The sculpture was made for her, for all survivors of gender-based violence. Tracy McCarter is a hardworking brave mother of four. She is charged with Murder 2 for daring to survive yet another attack from her drunken, white ex-husband. Tracy, a 47-year-old African American woman, was held without bail and incarcerated at Rikers for 6-months during the peak of Covid-19. I should note that while incarcerated, Tracy used her skills as a registered nurse to help staff implement the latest methods for dealing with Covid infections.
