This video provides a very gentle introduction of how to program with Python. The video assumes you have no background in any computer programming language. Python is one of the most popular computer programming languages in the world. If you are new to computer programming, it is an excellent language to begin learning with due to its easy syntax and wide applicability the numerous applications that range anywhere from data science to mathematics to the particular area of interest on this channel - geographic information systems or GIS. A free and open source python software package is used to teach Pyhton in this video so you can get started right away learning how write and use Python code.
