Welcome to episode 3, the final episode of The Role of Community Building to Drive Innovation, filmed at City of Glasgow College in partnership with the College Local Innovation Centres (CLIC). In this episode, Alisdair Gunn, Director of the Glasgow City Innovation District, is joined by Rachel Moir, Innovation Programme Manager at GCID and Bayile Adeoti, CEO of Dechomai, Entrepreneur in Residence at Clyde College, and Entrepreneurial Champion for Glasgow City Region Colleges. Together, they focus on the role of skills, learning and people in driving innovation. The discussion explores how peer learning and mentorship can strengthen individuals and organisations, sharing examples of where this approach has worked well and how trust is built within learning communities. The conversation also looks at how educational institutions like City of Glasgow College can embed community engagement into curriculum design for future innovators, while ensuring diversity and inclusion are maintained - questioning whether this is best achieved through course design alone or by spending more time working directly within communities. This final episode brings the series to a close by reinforcing the importance of skills development rooted in community and collaboration. We hope you’ve enjoyed this three-part series, which has explored community building, ecosystems and skills as key drivers of innovation.
