The Church of God Members Wear Veils During Worship | World Mission Society Church of God

2,000 years ago, God the Creator came to this earth in the name of Jesus, and established the new covenant. Through the new covenant, God’s children, who are suffering from sin and death, can have the forgiveness of sin and eternal life. For three years, Jesus set an example of keeping the new covenant for His disciples. “I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.” (Jn 13:15) After the Resurrection, Jesus asked His disciples to teach all people to keep the new covenant so that they could be saved. (Mt 28:19) Following the words of Jesus, His disciples preached the new covenant. In the new covenant, through which we can have the forgiveness of sins, there is a regulation for worship. If a man covers his head during worship, it is a dishonor to God; if a woman does not cover her head, it is a dishonor to her head. (1 Cor11:4) At the church that follows the new covenant established by Christ, a woman covers her head with a veil during worship, and a man does not. However, after Jesus’ Ascension, some women insisted they did not have to wear veils in worship. Because of this, Apostle Paul urged them to wear veils, explaining that long hair looks beautiful for a woman by human nature. “Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him, but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering. we have no other practice— nor do the churches of God.” (1 Corinthians 11:16) The Bible clearly states that the a woman should cover her head with a veil during worship. The practice of wearing a veil for a woman during worship is one of regulations of the new covenant that Jesus taught and Apostle Paul preached. It is God’s will to follow the veil regulation.
