Smiling suspect arrested in elder fraud case after SWAT raid in Florida

An investigation into elder fraud has led to the arrest of a Port St. Lucie woman, accused of gaining the trust of an elderly victim by becoming her caregiver. CBS12 News obtained Ring camera footage that shows detectives with the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office (SLCSO), along with the SWAT team, executing a search warrant on Wednesday morning, resulting in the smiling suspect photo of 28-year-old Sarah Works. The investigation began after a family member living out of state noticed suspicious activity in the victim’s bank account and alerted authorities. Detectives executed the search warrant at 210 Banyan Drive, where Works was residing. The SWAT team successfully secured the residence, SLCSO said. Works was then taken into custody.
