Strat: Like many raid bosses, Maexxna has a cc ability that will target members of the raid, but not the main tank. That ability is web wrap, and when you get hit by it, you will be thrown to the back of the room and unable to move for about a minute. This almost always equals a wipe since you will be unable to heal your pet for that duration. However, feigning death just before she uses web wrap will negate the attack since the hunter is not considered a target when we use FD. The tricky part with this is knowing when to FD, as I know my DBM did not show when she was going to cast web wrap. So, through trial and error, I found that she casts it approximately 20 seconds after the fight starts and then every 40 seconds after that (or 10 seconds after each web spray), so I found that counting during the fight and then using FD about 2-3 seconds before she is supposed to cast it was the best way to go (and be sure to stay FD'd until you see "Maexxna spins her web into a cocoon" on your screen). It may take a couple tries to get the hang of it, but once you get used to it, you'll be doing it without fail every time. The other thing you'll need to watch out for is the debuff she casts on your pet, which reduces healing by 75%. Maexxna is certainly not the hardest hitting boss in Naxx, but you will not be able to keep your pet up with only 25% heals. This debuff is considered a poison, so make sure you are specced into "Improved Mend Pet 2/2" which gives you a 50% chance to dispel a poison from your pet whenever you cast mend pet. So, whenever you notice your pet has the debuff, spam mend pet until it is dispelled. Maexxna does have adds which she summons every 20 seconds or so, and I tend to almost completely ignore them except for a multishot or two after I FD (which is often enough to kill them). They have a very small health pool and their damage output is even smaller. While it does add up over time, you should be able to down the boss before they kill you. Good luck!
