A song about things lost and found…my lovely little guitar from 1979…played to death (it seems) and recently unearthed from its old case…and my mum’s long missing - now found - wedding ring, which I wear on her behalf nowadays Opened the case the other day..how it’s gathering dust Isn’t it a pretty thing…isnt it just He said.. Let me take a look at it, How long you had this…? since I was 21 I played it on the pavement Played it at the folk club Played it to any one (anyone who’s listen) Then I put it in a cupboard In its old black box…with all the other junk I’ll think about it…I’ll think about it…I’ll let you know 6 months after she had gone, 2 decades since last seen Finally found my lovely mum’s..missing wedding ring At the back of her sewing box..where she never went much After her mind was lost (left and gone) Now I wear it on my strumming hand..on the 4th finger Show it to everyone He put it there..put it there when they were 21… He called me back yesterday..this one’s a problem Couple of cracks in the back..and the frets are sunken Can’t guarantee it’ll be the same…as when you..
