During the winter of 2026, I spent several days exploring the Bernese Alps in Switzerland through a series of silent hikes. Moving slowly across snow-covered valleys, frozen lakes, and quiet alpine forests, this journey unfolded during the heart of the winter season, when the mountains reveal a more intimate and contemplative side. The Bernese Oberland is one of the most spectacular alpine regions in Switzerland. Throughout the winter, I walked through landscapes shaped by glaciers and towering peaks, surrounded by some of the most iconic mountains of the Alps, including the Jungfrau, Mönch, and Eiger. Deep valleys, silent forests, and vast snowy plateaus created a unique atmosphere where nature felt both powerful and peaceful. These hikes took place during the peak winter months, when the landscapes are at their most pristine, covered in snow, illuminated by soft winter light, and far from the crowds of summer.
