Joint webinar organised by the Green Chemistry Academy and the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission The Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) approach is a key European framework to guide chemical innovation by embedding safety, sustainability and competitiveness from the earliest design stages. In this introductory webinar, experts from the Joint Research Centre (JRC) present: the policy context and objectives of SSbD at the European level, the holistic structure of the SSbD framework, key insights on safety and sustainability assessment, perspectives for research, industry and education. This webinar is designed as an accessible entry point, open to a broad audience: students (Master’s and PhD), academic staff, industry professionals, innovation and sustainability stakeholders — no prior expertise on SSbD is required.
