Hello! I've been (very) eagerly awaiting the elite spec beta after I saw Troubadour as I love musician / dancer fantasies in mmorpgs A LOT. I always think about to Dream of Mirror Online's dancer and musician specs and I've not played an mmorpg since that which had something I really felt I meshed with of that theme, but holy moly, I am LOVING Troubadour a lot right now! I was already very assured it was going to be a really good heal support, but I am actually surprised it isn't that good of a condition damage spec, as I did expect it to be good as condition but weak as power, but it is the exact opposite, but I'm still playing it condi-focused celestial for solo! The damage isn't as high as it could be, and other solo builds outshine its damage, but I am hopeful they buff condition damage on it, to give it a viable full condition damage build, which should translate into more damage on a solo build. Troubadour has a very solid amount of sustain due to regeneration, healing from Harp, regular windows of invulnerability, barrier from Crescendo and a lot of healing through Mayhem - it is like a pseudo old 6th piece bonus of Rune of Tormenting and I LOVE IT SO MUCH!! Beyond that, it has regular stability access, great boon coverage, good amounts of crowd control, and if you wanted to boost the sustain even more, you can run Relic of Nourys (without a combat tonic) for a massive burst to sustain. Personally, I would need them to buff condition damage on Troubadour before I feel comfortable losing more damage to run Relic of Nourys. The build has no built in condition cleansing, and as you need a celerity sigil, you cannot run cleansing sigils, but you can easily swap Signet of Domination out for Mantra of Resolve to have on-demand cleansing, so I don't feel that downside at all. I have been tinkering with rotations a lot, and axe is feeling better than scepter in my opinion as scepter 3 just takes a very long time over against axe 3 and unlike celestial condition Chronomancer, you don't auto attack much on your weapon set that isn't staff due to instrument casting so axe slips into that playstyle better for me. In the demos, there is a different set of rotations, but I have landed on one in the end that feels the most optimal! Realistically you're looking to keep up as many instruments as possible, prioritizing your Flute and then Harp / Lute have the same priority for me, with Drum having the lowest priority. There is a bug where if you're interrupted while casting, the instrument goes on cooldown but you get no "instrument playing" buff, which does happen a few times in these demos, but it should be ironed out for VoE release! My main hopes are that they make note generation more abundant, make instruments easier to up keep through increasing the cap from 20s to 30s and making note contribution cause the instrument to play for like 23 - 24.5s opposed to the current 20s with x3 notes and I do hope they had some more condition damage hooks to boost the damage. If they give this a viable condition damage build, I feel I will not play anything else in the open world as the sustain, aesthetics and everything else in between is there for me, I just want a bit of a boost in damage. I have sped up the fights, because as I say, the damage isn't immensely high (I can get around 17.6k ~ 18.4k on the golem without confusion ticks, but it isn't pushing over 20k like my solo Catalyst build for example). You can use the chapters below to navigate as you like! Note, not every single fight is a full solo, but this video is more of a demo of how Troubadour can function (very well) as a solo build against some tougher solo encounters / random examples. = = = Chapters: 0:00 - Awakened Hoarder 2:28 - Corrupted Facet 4:44 - Distraught Choya 7:45 - Ellutherius Wintergust 9:30 - Emogg the Soulbeast (less about Emogg, but the fact it can casually just mitigate through a legendary bounty also pressuring it) 10:45 - Emperor Mattake 11:15 - Exterminator IG-04 12:30 - Mordrem Guard Stalker 13:00 - Ignis 16:31 - Mushroom Queen (phantasms get obstructed a lot :/) 17:19 - Rubedon, the Rumbling Earth 19:59 - Seneb the Desecrated 22:00 - Smoldge 23:01 - Starcaller 24:50 - Troopmarshal Olori 26:21 - Wissper Inssani So yes, I am very excited for VoE to play this more (and not feel bad I'm missing out on loot gkjfngd) and to see what adjustments they make to it to hopefully give it some more QoL and condition damage prowess! Hope you enjoy! o7 #guildwars2
