The evolution of Batman is a long and twisting tale, and the differences between Batman then and now are staggering. Now that the Batman movie version finally has a Justice League movie 2017 to call his own, we thought it’d be the perfect time for a Batman retrospective on the various live action movie Batsuits worn by the various movie Batman actors in Batman movies. When it comes to the Batman costume, there have been plenty attempts to make a live action Batman movie costumes that have provided plenty of Batman cosplay fodder over the decades, and we go through the entire evolution of the Batman movie costume in all its shapes and forms. Whether it’s the Batman serial of the ‘40s to the campy 1966 Batman TV show starring Adam West Batman, the grim and gritty Tim Burton Batman in the 1989 Batman movie and Batman Returns starring Michael Keaton Batman, the ridiculous Joel Schumacher Batman movie Batman Forever with a Val Kilmer Batman, the execrable 1997 Batman and Robin movie starring George Clooney Batman, to the long-awaiting Christopher Nolan Batman Begins starring Christian Bale Batman, which culminated in the Christopher Nolan Dark Knight trilogy including the Dark Knight, with the star making turn of a Heath Ledger Joker, to the Dark Knight Rises, and finally the DCEU Batman v. Superman Ben Affleck Batman and the subsequent Justice League Batman, the evolution of Batman in live action has been a long and winding road. But this comics legend has one of the greatest costume designs in the history of comic books, and the DC comics icon has never been more popular. Call him Batman, Bat Man, the Dark Knight, the Caped Crusader, or even just call him Bruce Wayne. Whatever name he goes by, and whatever Batman Costume he’s wearing from his long history of Batman evolution, Batman before and after this year’s 2017 Justice League movie will still be one of the greatest superheroes of all time, and certainly the best looking superhero Batsuit in the history of live action superhero movies.
