Concerns rise over Tanzania COVID-19 outbreak

Tanzania’s president has announced the country is not facing a coronavirus threat as they have been healed through prayer. The World Health Organisation has expressed severe concerns over the virus situation in Tanzania as the government has not released any data in weeks with media reports often suppressed and journalists imprisoned. Kenya has closed its border with Tanzania and the US embassy in country’s capital has warned Americans to stay at home as the city’s hospitals are overwhelmed. The government has also allowed markets to remain open as lockdown restrictions would likely lead to starvation in poor communities. Image: AP
