He said that over the last one year, Sambalpur district police have conducted raids in various areas, seized huge quantities of cough syrup and arrested hundreds of accused persons. The growing misuse of cough syrup as a narcotic substance has emerged as a serious social and law-and-order challenge in the region, with police continuing enforcement actions to curb the illegal trade.
