Illustrations for the Book of Revelation created in the Monastery of St Victor. I just saw the photos and am in awe how the genius of the anonymous iconographer summed up thousands of pages of theological exegeses from the first millennium in order to make it comprehensible to the logoic mind, and in the same time preserved the mysterious veil of the prophetic book for the heart to rise itself in a reverent silence. It is truly fascinating how the understanding of the Church in the divine otherworldliness of the one Mind of Christ is revealed through His saints - in the Old Testament or in the New and throughout the ages up to the end of days -, this prophetic book is envisioned in the same multidimensional way, as the most plenary experience of God in the cosmos and in the heart, like a dive in an all-discerning mandelbrot set of His overwhelming Righteousness and Mercy.
