The New EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) explained |Are you ready for EU CSRD?

The European Commission (EC) recently approved the new CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive), which will encourage businesses in the EU to work towards their sustainable goals by publishing regular reports on their sustainability activities. This initiative is similar to how Germany introduced the new German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (Lieferkettensorgfaltspflichtengesetz, LkSG). On November 10, 2022, the European Parliament passed the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), which aims to make it easier for stakeholders to assess a company's non-financial performance. This new directive updates and strengthens the criteria controlling the social and environmental data that firms are expected to publish.
