#alaminos #snpablocity #dpwh #buildbettermore Courtesy:Manila Bulletin Alaminos-San Pablo City bypass road to be partially opened next month BY BETHEENA UNITE Feb 17, 2021 02:15 AM    Some three kilometers of the Alaminos-San Pablo City bypass road in Laguna will be opened for public use on March 15, Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary (DPWH) Mark A. Villar announced Tuesday, February 16. Villar said the portion up for opening is a 2.85-kilometer section of the 12.83-kilometer bypass road starting from Daang Maharlika. “This may only be just a small portion of the 12.83-kilometer Alaminos-San Pablo City bypass road but this marks the non-stop efforts of the department to improve road network to support underdeveloped areas,” Villar said. “The entire Alaminos-San Pablo City bypass road with five bridge components is envisioned to cut travel time by as much as 20-40 minutes, thereby improving mobility between the two towns of Laguna,” he added. The secretary further said that five other segments of the bypass road funded under Calendar Year 2018, 2019, and 2020 are ongoing. The efforts include the construction of bridges 4 and 5, which are now 45 percent and 15 percent completed, respectively. The concreting of a 5.31-kilometer road is now 15 percent completed, while the construction of another 2.45-kilometer road with line canal is now 25 percent completed. The progress rate of the widening of two bridges is now at 89 percent. The road project is being implemented under a P1.36-billion allocation sourced in 2016. It will require P473 million more to cover the widening of bridges 3, 4, and 5, and paving of the shoulder of the entire bypass road project.
