Interestingly, The Black Dyke Mills Band (As They Were Called At The Time) Who Were Conducted By David King, Won That 1990 European Brass Band Championship Title With A Truly Wonderful Performance Of ’THE ESSENCE OF TIME’ Gaining 99 Points Out Of 100 For The Set Work, As Well As Gaining Another 99 Points Out Of 100 For Their ‘Own Choice’ Piece For The Competition, When They Gave Another Masterful Performance Playing ’HARMONY MUSIC’ Composed By Philip Sparke. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ’THE ESSENCE OF TIME’ - THE WORK ’THE ESSENCE OF TIME’ Work Is Prefaced By A Biblical Quotation From The Third Chapter From The Book Of Ecclesiastes, Where It Says - "To Every Thing There Is A Season, And A Time To Every Purpose Under Heaven, A Time To Be Born, A Time To Dance, A Time To Love, A Time To Hate, A Time To Die, A Time To Mourn : A Time For War, A Time For Peace".
