Description: Southeast Asian countries are particularly vulnerable to climate change impacts due to their geography, large coastal populations, and reliance on agriculture. Rising sea levels, more frequent and intense storms, flooding, and droughts force many people to relocate within their countries or across borders. As climate impacts worsen, the scale of migration is likely to increase, posing significant challenges for Southeast Asian nations. In this webinar, panelists will discuss how climate change causes migrations, local and regional; impacts on family and society followed by some recommendations to address climate change issues and build climate change resilient communities. Speakers: (1) Dr. Carl Middleton, Assitant Professor, Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University (2) Dr. Mokbul Morshed Ahmad, Professor and Head of Department of Development and Sustainability, Asian Institute of Technology (3) Melinda Martinus, Lead Researcher, Climate Change in Southeast Asia Programme, Yusof Ishak Institute Moderator: Sopheak Chant, Visiting Fellow, Michigan State University Chapters: 0:00.
