While traditionally, a great sequel simply does everything that the original does, alongside refining a basis and adding more content, the reality of creating follow-ups comes with a lot of unexpected setbacks, so developing a blueprint tailor-made for your IP is a good way to circumvent said setbacks. We'll be determining connections between Yakuza 1 and 2, Kurohyou 1 and 2, Judgment and Lost Judgment, as well as Yakuza 7 and Infinite Wealth. Sidenote: footage of Yakuza Kiwami and Kiwami 2 is used in place of the OGs cinematics due to my footage of the original games being too stutter-y. Having said that, when discussing gameplay-related similarities, footage from the OGs will be used regardless, as unlike the story, the gameplay between the original games and the remakes differs massively.
