The Analogue Productions RCA Living Stereo Series has been a boon to classical record collectors seeking great all analogue reissues of this classic series of recordings. The French Touch is a collection of fantasy pieces by three French composers, and is a has been a somewhat elusive RCA Living Stereo title in it's original issues. This magical golden age classical recording by Charles Munch conducting the Boston Symphony Orchestra was first released in mono in 1958, and the stereo edition followed in 1959. With the exception of a French reissue in the mid sixties and the CD edition, the record has had no other reissues, either by RCA or and of the audiophile reissue labels, until Analogue Productions chose it for their RCA Living Stereo reissue series. In this video we discuss the music, recording, he original mono release and the newest stereo edition. This reissue was remastered and cut in an all analogue process by Ryan K. Smith at Sterling Sound, pressed on 180gm vinyl by Quality Record Pressings, and housed in a gorgeous glossy Stoughton tip on jacket. Correction: Boston Symphony Hall has had some minor modifications over the years, but it's basic sonic character remains intact.
