Hi kids! We talk about Covid-19 safety tips and hygiene etiquette that you can follow to slow down the spread of Coronavirus and protect yourself and others during this pandemic. Wash your hands frequently Regularly and thoroughly clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water. Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds, just about as long as it takes to sing happy birthday. Why? Washing your hands with soap and water or using alcohol-based hand rub kills viruses that may be on your hands. Hands touch many surfaces and can pick up viruses. Once contaminated, hands can transfer the virus to your eyes, nose or mouth. From there, the virus can enter your body and can make you sick. Maintain social distancing Keep at least 1 metre distance between yourself and others. Why? When someone coughs or sneezes they spray small liquid droplets from their nose or mouth which may contain virus. If you are too close, you can breathe in the droplets, including the COVID-19 virus if the person coughing has the disease. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth Why? Hands touch many surfaces and can pick up viruses. Once contaminated, hands can transfer the virus to your eyes, nose or mouth. From there, the virus can enter your body and can make you sick. Watch out for coughing and sneezing! Cover your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze. Then throw the tissue away immediately. Why? Droplets spread virus. By following good respiratory hygiene you protect the people around you from viruses such as cold, flu and COVID-19. Wear a cloth-mask MASK GUIDELINES: Wearing a cloth mask does not mean you don’t need to do all the other things mentioned in the video! The mask alone, will not prevent you or others from catching the virus. Guidelines for use are as follows: 1. Wash and iron your mask 2. Wash your hands before putting the mask on. 3. Place the mask with the correct side facing your face 4. Cover your nose and mouth. 4. Make sure the mask is tight and fits well. 6. Once you have put on the mask, DO NOT TOUCH YOUR FACE again until you take it off. 7. When you take it off, fold the mask inside out, hold it by the strings/elastic and place the mask in a container reserved for washing the cloth mask. 8. Wash your hands after you took off the mask. 9. Wash cloth masks with warm soapy water and iron. 10. Have 2 cloth masks so that you can wash one and have a clean one ready for use. Avoid people who are sick. Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces. If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical care early Stay home if you feel unwell.
