Robert’s story in Auslan about the Rec program lunch at Fairfield Park Boathouse on the 21st of March 18 Transcript: Interviewer: So, last week you went to the Boathouse with the Deafblind group. Can you tell me about it? Robert: First we had a look around. It was DBV, the Deafblind group. We hung out and chatted for a bit. There were a few people from Able Australia there too, you know? The restaurant was quite expensive! But that’s OK, it’s not every day we get to enjoy this. The food was good and the view was lovely. I took some photos. There were rowboats and the river was nice and calm. I took a lot of pictures, put my camera away and headed off, then… oops! I realised I’d forgotten my mobile phone! I got it and took selfies alongside the boats. We said our goodbyes and Ruth and I climbed all the way up the very steep hill. Going down is OK but going up is tough! From the top you can see the river, the boats and all the winding paths up the hill. The paths are a bit of a maze! Ant [volunteer] was with me and we got lost on them. We had to ask for directions. What a bugger! Haha it was so fun. I really liked it.
