The Genesis Arms Gen 12 is simultaneously one of the simplest and most brilliant shotgun designs to come out in a long time. It foregoes a more standard piston or DI gas system in favor of an ultra-reliable short recoil action built into an upper receiver that attaches to a DPMS Gen 1 AR-10 style lower receiver. This means you get all of the familiar ergonomics of an AR combined with a high performance semi-automatic magazine fed 12 gauge platform with minimal recoil, fast cycling and rapid reloads. Does that sound too good to be true? I agree, I thought so as well, but there was only one way to know for sure. Will this third attempt in my quest for a reliable and fun magazine fed semi-automatic shotgun be the success I've been craving, or another disappointment? Only one way to find out! This is the 3rd video in my 3-video series in search of a reliable and fun magazine fed semi-auto shotgun. Make sure to check out my videos on the Fostech Origin 12 and K-USA Komrad 12 for the full story. Video 1: Origin 12 - • Fostech Origin 12 | First Shots - What Hap... Video 2: Komrad 12 - • K-USA Komrad 12 | First Shots The Genesis Arms Gen 12 was also featured in John Wick 4 (JW4) using Dragon's Breath rounds! There are several models available when selecting a Gen-12 from Genesis Arms. I chose to go with the Gen 12 10.5 SBM, which is the 10.5" barreled "Suppressor Breacher Model," which is their latest and most advanced design which allows for breaching usage as well as running a Rex Silentium SEG12 suppressor. This model is technically classified as a firearm as it has a barrel shorter than 18.5" and the overall length is longer than 26". I have mine setup with an EoTech EXPS2-0 holographic sight. One of the biggest and most exciting claims about the Gen 12 is that it can cycle just about any 12 gauge shotgun ammunition, down to 1145fps, right out of the box, with no break-in necessary. That sounds amazing and is exactly what I've been looking for, but I approached the purchase with some level of skepticism based on my experiences with the Origin and Komrad earlier this year. On top of the performance that you'll see in the video, I can confidently say that everyone I've spoken with at Genesis Arms has been genuine, knowledgeable and passionate about their products, with exceptional customer service that gave me a lot of confidence and excitement going into this first range day. Spoiler alert: I was not disappointed in the slightest. This is video 3 out of 3 in my Semi-Auto Mag-Fed Shotgun video series. I started with the Fostech Origin 12, then tried the KUSA Komrad 12, and the series is now concluding with the Genesis Arms Gen 12. It's been a very interesting and often frustrating journey, but in the end I can honestly say it's been worth it. In addition to the 175 rounds I ran through the Genesis Arms Gen-12 in this session, I also compared the Gen 12 to the Benelli M4 and Komrad 12 for some additional perspective. I have a TON of videos in the works here - remember to like, comment, share and subscribe, and thanks a lot for stopping by!
