Christy and the girls were excitedly making a list the night before, creating a chart and assigning tasks, and planned to go on a big shopping spree at the evening market the next day. In the afternoon, the whole family happily made a quick trip to Miaoli to buy all the ingredients and supplies. Once the girls found what they were looking for, we all headed home, ready to start grilling. But suddenly, the clouds began to grow, the sky became dark, and it started drizzling. Then it turned into heavy rain with thunder and lightning… What a disaster! For safety reasons, Dad said we had to postpone our favorite Mid-Autumn BBQ dinner. With lightning striking in the nearby hills, it wouldn't be wise to be cooking or shooting a video outside. No one really wanted to give up, so we decided to wait it out—10 minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes went by. Just when we were about to give up, our oldest daughter Adeline decided to use the gas grill on the front porch to cook a little something to keep us going. We said a prayer and waited. Adeline faithfully kept gas grill cooking. And then something amazing happened. It was truly a unique experience.
