Performed January 30, 2009. This piece was composed by the awesome and amazing composer Hans Zimmer for Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Mans Chest. This particular arrangement is from the book "Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Mans Chest, Piano Solos" published by Hal Leonard. Sebastian is performing it on the Roland RM-700 Digital Piano which in and of itself is an absolutely amazing instrument. One person can sound like an entire symphony orchestra because the sounds on it are so true to life. Nothing is pre-recorded, it was all played live. Sebastian is 13 and in the 7th grade and has been in piano lessons at Capital Music Center for five years now. He is taking advantage of a feature called "USER PROGRAMS" that remembers exactly what sound you want to play. It's virtually unlimited how many presets (user programs) you can set for each song. He preset 7 registrations for instrumentation changes as he plays. Each new sound set is changed by depressing the left pedal. Sebastian started out learning it using just the piano sound then gradually we layered in more sounds, like strings, pizzicato strings, timpani, trumpets, wind ensemble, pipe organ, etc. The Roland RM-700 Digital Piano is truly the most versatile digital piano on the market. Please note that ANY piano student can take ANY piece of piano music and make it come to life simply by choosing any of the awesome sounds on this digital piano. It just takes a few seconds of asking yourself, What sound would sound good with this piece. In the case of the piece "The Kraken", we listened to the sound track many times to figure out what instruments played at what points and switched to those instruments at those points in the music. Piano lessons at Capital Piano Center are FUN and you can learn songs that you REALLY want to play! Capital Piano Center 512-458-1933 www.capmusic.com 6101 Burnet Rd, Austin, TX 78757
