Welcome to my teaching through repertoire tutorial series - you've found Burst, a piece by Brian Balmages. I work rehearsal number to rehearsal number discussing and then performing the part under tempo giving insights for what to look for - all parts are demonstrated on the cello. It's a grade 1.5 and great for an end of the year concert for 1st year players or to start the year for your 2nd year musicians as you get the rust off from summer. This piece is essentially 3 parts - 1st violin, 2nd/viola and cello/bass with only minimal difference in the doubled parts to aid in working together on unison or block rhythms.
