RC Maiden Flights – Habu XS, Me-163... and a Crash! After waiting for good weather, I finally hit the field for the maiden flight of the Habu XS! The weather turned out perfect after work, so I charged up some packs, met up with my friend, and we made the most of the evening. To warm up, I flew a few passes with the Viper 64mm before letting the Habu XS take to the skies. The maiden was a complete success. The jet handled beautifully, with smooth takeoff, excellent high-speed and slow-speed performance, and one of the easiest landings I’ve ever had with an EDF. Meanwhile, Min brought his Me-163 for its maiden attempt. After showing a clip of his last (and spectacular!) crash with it, we catch his new maiden where things got a little hairy at takeoff. We didn't have a lot of daylight left, but it was an great maiden session for both planes.
