On January 17, 2026, Shri Nitin Gadkari inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 8 National Highway projects and 3 Driving Training Centers, totaling an investment of over ₹4,400 Crore. These projects, spanning 181 km, are designed to strengthen connectivity across Central India and the Bundelkhand region. Key highlights include the 4-laning of the Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary section (NH-46), which features specialized animal underpasses and soundproof corridors to ensure safe passage for tigers and other wildlife while reducing travel time by up to 30 minutes. Major Projects Highlighted: NH-146 Upgradation: 4-laning of segments from Bhopal to Ber khedi via Vidisha and Gyaraspur, enhancing access to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Sanchi. Sagar Western Bypass: A 20 km greenfield project that will reduce travel time by 70%, bypassing urban congestion to link NH-146 directly to NH-44. Economic Boost: Improved routes for farmers in Raisen and Vidisha to transport high-quality wheat and agricultural products to markets faster and cheaper. Safety First: Elimination of blackspots on the Bhopal–Biaora section (NH-46) with new underpasses and the establishment of state-of-the-art Driving Training Centers in Bagrod, Bhaphel, and Chhapri. From boosting religious tourism at Sanchi to creating seamless logistics for industries, these projects reflect the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) and NHAI’s commitment to building a safer, faster, and more prosperous Madhya Pradesh. #NHAI #NitinGadkari #MadhyaPradeshInfrastructure #BundelkhandConnectivity #RoadSafety #WildlifeProtection #SanchiStupa #SagarBypass #BuildingIndia
