"We Found a Giant!" 2025 Public Land Wyoming Elk - Part I

The 2025 Wyoming backcountry elk hunt kicks off with Nick Myhre, Canaan Kugler, and Jaden Munyer packing into the mountains for an early-October adventure. Usually it takes time to even find elk… but this year was different. They spotted elk immediately—and bulls were everywhere. If you’ve followed the channel for a while, you know Nick isn’t one to pull the trigger on Day 1. But with several good bulls already on the mountain, the guys had an early choice to make: go after one of these huge bulls now, or keep searching to see what other caliber of bulls were in the area? They decide to keep looking for more elk and get a better feel for what the unit holds. After getting their backcountry camp set up, they head out for an evening glassing session—and end up turning up the biggest bull they spotted that morning, and now he is in a spot where they can't make a move on him. Day 1 wraps up with the crew hiking back to camp, starting a fire, eating a backcountry meal and settling into their tents and dreaming about what kind of excitement is still ahead of them chasing public land elk in the Wyoming backcountry.
