RASTA (Resource Centre for Asphalt and Soil Training Academy), established in Bangalore in the year 2002, RASTA stands as a pioneer and total solution provider in highway technology, comprising four key verticals: Training, Academics, Research and Development, and Consultancy. RASTA is an initiative by the Volvo Group, a testament to our commitment to excellence and the pursuit of knowledge. We take pride in being a catalyst for change, fostering collaboration between academia and industry to propel the field of road technology forward. Vision To be the Centre of Excellence in the Road and Infrastructure research and practice in the country. Mission To be the knowledge Centre that will help students and professionals to disseminate the latest knowledge in Road and Infrastructure Technology. Training RASTA started its journey by organizing training programs to highway professionals from various Government departments / private sectors both consultancy and construction companies to update their knowledge, regarding the latest technologies/ innovations in road building. Training modules are customized to suit the requirements of the different organizations and the level of engineers to be trained. So far more than 3400 Engineers from various Government department / private companies have been trained successfully at RASTA with 102 Training programmes conducted. RASTA is also organizing training programs for the Engineers in the field of Infrastructure Construction and Management. Academics RASTA an Extension and Research Centre of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), one of the largest Technological Universities in India, is offering several post graduate courses and Ph.D programs for Civil Engineering graduates. The purpose of the PG Courses is to train the students with a curriculum that emphasizes on practical training, thus churn out competent highway engineers befitting industry needs. RASTA has well equipped laboratory for material testing and investigations Research RASTA carries out research projects funded by state /central govt and private industry Offers Ph.D Milestones of RASTA Acclaimed Training centre for Road with state of art facilities Extension Centre of VTU for Academics & Research State Technical Agency (STA) for evaluating the technical and commercial scope of rural roads under PMGSY scheme.
