Ever heard the phrase "A good man is hard to find"? This is true for us as women, as it is for men finding their "good thing". But maybe it should be changed to hard to meet.. because we aren't supposed to be finding the good man lol. ;-) Let's talk marriage. Remember "Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord." Proverbs 18:22. Yes the good man has to find you. He lives for Christ, and he is a praying man. He is God-fearing. He keeps God first in all he does. He obeys God's Word. He is a kind man, a humble man (Galatians 5:22-25). That last scripture is the most important one. It says "22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit." You definitely want a relationship that is being led by the Holy Spirit. Sometimes what we want isn't what God wants for us. Especially when there's a special call on your life. Remember that man looks at the outer appearance, but God looks at the heart (1 Samuel 16:7).
