Welcome to King Fahd Mosque. With a capacity of 2,000 worshippers and a 72-foot high (22 m) minaret, it one of the most famous and popular masajid of the Los Angeles metro area. While 99% of masajid are funded and built by American muslims, this is one of the very few that was gifted by an emir. Today it is run and managed completely by the local community and congregants who attend the masjid in Culver City, California. It was built in 1998, and is named after the late king Fahd of Saudi Arabia. When you look up king Fahd mosque, you’d be surprised that this is not the only one, in fact, king fahd funded masajid all over th world including the biggest masjid in South America, the king fahd islamic cultural center in Buenos Aires, Argentina, which is considered one of the most beautiful masajid in the world. king Fahad mosque is also present in places such as Gibraltar, Bosnia and Scotland. They are all unique and beautiful In their own way. The late KIng Fahd was also responsible for one of the biggest and most elaborate expansion and refurbishment of the two Holy Masajid in seven centuries and was behind the monumental King Fahd Complex for Printing the Holy Qur’an, located in Madinah al Munawarrah, it produces Up to 10 million copies of the Qur’an in Arabic and other languages annually and distributed worldwide. King Fahad also supported personally or through his government more than 200 Islamic centers, over 1,200 mosques, over 200 colleges, and around 2,000 schools for Muslim children worldwide.
