Barkley, Ph.D. Lecture 15/15 - ADHD in Adults Part III: Assessment and Treatment In this course Dr. Barkley describes the information that should be covered in the evaluation of adults with ADHD. He also notes the use of rating scales and why neuropsychological tests are not always useful for diagnosing ADHD. He also addresses issues related to assessing potential malingering. This course also provides recommendations for writing a report including a recommended structure for reports for purposes such as requesting accommodations under ADA. He describes methods of intervention for ADHD including CBT and ADHD coaching. He concludes the lecture with numerous suggestions for potential work and school accommodations and tools that can be used to assist adults with coping effectively with their symptoms and impairments.
