This is my full trauma story. I recorded this in the summer of 2024 and didn't feel comfortable sharing the rawness of this trauma. As I wrestled with whether I should post it at all for two years, these words rang in my head (you and others can heal by the words of your testimony). In honor of Black History Month, I’m sharing what it has meant to navigate trauma as a Black woman, including the invisible layers that often go unnamed: being dismissed, having to “push through,” and carrying pain alone because the world expects strength before it offers care. A major part of my story includes endometriosis and the emotional toll that can come with it. The grief, medical trauma, anxiety, depression, isolation, body distrust, wrestling with God, and learning how to heal when you’re still hurting is hard to manage alone. If you’ve ever felt like: your pain was minimized or ignored your body became a battleground you’ve lost pieces of yourself to survival mode you’re trying to rebuild faith, identity, and safety after trauma …this video is for you. I’m sharing this to remind you: your story matters and your pain is real. 💛 Need support? If you’re a Christian Black woman navigating medical trauma, chronic pain, and endometriosis, you can feel seen, held, and understood in your deepest pain. ➡️ Book a consultation/appointment: www.cheerfulheartmhcpllc.com ➡️ Learn more about why your therapist's lived experience is invaluable: https://www.cheerfulheartmhcpllc.com/... 🫶🏾 If this resonates, please like, subscribe, and comment!
