Join flower farmer and florist Georgie Newbery of Common Farm Flowers as she continues her tour of flower farms around the Uk this time in a visit to Claire Brown at @Plantpassion in the Surrey Hills. It is possible that looking at flower farms in the winter months is a slightly niche interest - but it is, for those in the know, always interesting to see the bones of a place. In summer when the beds are in full flower one can easily be swept away by the beauty of the set up, but on a wet day in November there are few flowers to distract from a conversation about wind breaks, the #flowerfarmersyear, time and space management, the difference between flower farming and gardening and much more. The conversation between Georgie and Claire, who's flower farm has been established for only a few years less than Georgie's, ranges over the growing market for flowers, the value of learnining, and on to a chat about @flowersfromthefarmUK which is a volunteer-run co-operative of flower farmers in the UK. To explore your interest in flower farming further do book a place on one of our career change flower farming workshops, either here at the farm, or on line. We also run lifestyle business, social media, and flower farmer's year workshops, as well as more specific individual flower based sessions, and a great deal of floristry. You can see our full workshop calendar here https://www.commonfarmflowers.com/pag... If you're booking a place on our workshops or demos the website will ask you to choose a delivery date - any date will do! And if you can't join our sessions live then you are still very welcome to book as we send the recording and notes of the workshop out to everyone afterwards, so you can download the session and refer back to it as and when you need to.
